Melody says: “Hello, my name is Melody Riley and I live in St. Bernard Parish right outside the city of New Orleans.  I wanted to do a "bistro theme" in my kitchen and happened to spot a picture of a rather colorful and amusing "chef"  by artist, Jennifer Garant, in a home decorating shop at a mall.  It was love at first sight and I soon became a collector of anything that Jennifer created.  On August 29, 2005, Hurricane Katrina ripped through our Parish and destroyed everything, I had almost 10 feet of water in my home. My entire Jennifer Garant collection was ruined, some things I never found and very little was salvaged from my home. I was devasted, not only was my home and possessions destroyed but every home, school, church, and business was destroyed too.  My husband Michael and I decided to go back and rebuild our home. It was a long and difficult process. In the spring of 2008 my home was almost completed.  I wanted my kitchen the way is was before but unfortunately I couldn't find anything by Jennifer. I found that she had a website so I contacted her, told my story and within no time she helped me get my orginial "chef" print and many others. I was thrilled and deeply touched by her warmth and generosity.  Not only is Jennifer an outstanding artist but she and her husband Tadd are wonderful people who came to the rescue of one of her collectors.  I promised Jennifer that as soon as everything was in place I would send her pictures.  I wanted to share this bittersweet story with other collectors and to let Jennifer know that I love and admire her and her talent so much and will continue to add to my "collection".  Jennifer........you're the GREATEST!!!
